New schools for a new world

The world has changed and continues to change rapidly. What has worked in the past will not work for the schools of today or tomorrow. We know that we need to help our students develop an entirely new skill set. They must be able to produce knowledge, solve complex problems and collaborate in a flat world where geography, language and communication are no longer hurdles. They must be able to compete not just with their neighbors for jobs, but with individuals from across the globe.

How do you think our schools should change to better meet the needs of students today and into the future?

  1. Welcome law enforcement officers at schools

I came across this story today from Denver of a school welcoming law enforcement officers to have lunch at the school with the students and an open invitation to do their reports, usually done sitting in their squad cars, on school grounds. I thought this was a fantastic idea. I have also forwarded this to the Washington County Sheriffs office.

    Thanks for everything you do.

      • Money saving idea.

Instead of buying expensive Mac computers switch to PC's, they are just as good and a lot less expensive. Majority of colleges and employers use PC's, not Mac's.
